Weekly Sobriety Check-in

Saturday Sobriety Check-In

Join Trini Foundation for a virtual group check-in each Saturday at 10 AM EST. There will be opportunities to discuss our challenges, receive twelve-step support, and ask questions related to maintaining sobriety. The Trini Foundation provides this space free of cost for the purpose of community and peer recovery support.

The check-in is open to ALL Trini scholarship students worldwide, as well as others in the yoga community.

Peer supporter, Jason Etter, facilitates the check-in and is excited to welcome you:

My name is Jason Etter, and I am a person in long term recovery. What that means to me is that I have not had a drink or a drug since June 1, 2017. I walked into my first twelve-step meeting in 2012, and my life has not been the same since. Sober living is a big part of my story as well. I have had experience with relapse and have learned to overcome the stigmas of being a recovering addict that are placed on us by society and ourselves. I also practice yoga and mindfulness as a part of my recovery program. I became a certified yoga teacher in 2017, and I am a state-certified peer mentor in Kansas. I have worked at several substance abuse facilities leading yoga, mindfulness, and peer support groups. Twelve-step work paired with yoga and mindfulness is how I stay sober and help others one day at a time.
