"I love it there. I finally found somewhere I can heal my soul and find serenity."
Saturday Sobriety Check-In
Join Trini Foundation for a virtual group check-in each Saturday (beginning Jan 16, 2021) at 12:00 EST. There will be opportunities to discuss our challenges, receive twelve-step support, and ask questions. We know the past year has been challenging for everyone. Our hope is that providing more programming options will offer you the support you need to maintain your sobriety going forward.
The check-in is open to ALL Trini scholarship students worldwide, as well as others in the yoga community.
Peer supporter Jason Etter will facilitate the check-in and is excited to welcome you:
My name is Jason Etter, and I am a person in long term recovery. What that means to me is that I have not had a drink or a drug in 3 years. I walked into my first twelve-step meeting 8 years ago, and my life has not been the same since. Sober living is a big part of my story as well. I have had experience with relapse and have learned to overcome the stigmas of being a recovering addict that are placed on us by society and ourselves. I also practice yoga and mindfulness as a part of my recovery program. I became a certified yoga teacher in 2017, and I am a state-certified peer mentor in Kansas. I have worked at several substance abuse facilities leading yoga, mindfulness, and peer support groups. Twelve-step work paired with yoga and mindfulness is how I stay sober and help others one day at a time.
***The Trini Foundation is providing this space free of cost for the purpose of community and peer support in recovery. Facilitator comment and instruction is not intended to be clinical advice.
